About Us
Education & Wellbeing for Paramedics
Primary Survey is about supporting Paramedics, particularly students and graduates in their education and graduate years. We have a range of educational tools such as our AI Powered simulators, quizzes and learning materials alongside wellbeing support in the form of a peer support network (coming soon) and links to support services.

The Story
My name is Ben and I am a registered Paramedic. I graduated in 2024 after completing the Bachelor of Paramedic Science online.
Being a mature student and having never really studied before, I struggled through the degree. While I graduated with quite strong grades, I found that with no health background I had to work very hard to understand the material and had to actually learn it; I couldn't simply rattle of contraindications or use pneumonics, I had to actually learn the pharmacology of drugs, the pathophysiology and processes of diseases and I still don't know if I quite understand anatomy and physiology.
To put everything together in to a practical setting, I developed a simuilator, using a range of AI tools fine tuned to simulate an OSCE, Voice Viva and more recently, to review cases and provide feedback because since graduating, I have been working privately as a single responder with limited mentoring and support, so I needed something to sense-check my cases and give me a bit of piece of mind that I'm doing things right. Of course, I always recommend doing this with another practitioner or a real person, but these case reviews can give you some feedback in the mean time.
The intention was originally to offer this to the whole healthcare community and we were originally branded as MedQuiz but the more I do, the more work I put in and the more I study, the more my passion for prehospital healthcare grows and hence, Primary Survey - for paramedics.
Since starting the site, I have also realised that I am not alone in having had a few difficult placements and tricky periods to navigate through my study, so the support side of things was born, aiming to provide support to other students and graduates in their journey.
